A cooking workshop on Abruzzo’s culinary traditions hosted by a fascinating historical house in the village of Navelli.

Discover with this cooking workshop the traditional recipes of Abruzzo under the guidance of “Un’americana tra gli orsi” food blogger in the magical setting of “Dimora dell’arte” at Navelli. An unforgettable experience to learn, prepare and enjoy a typical italian Abruzzo’s lunch using products from the market or directly picked from the fields, depending on the season.

Itinerary

The cooking workshop will start at the agreed collection point at L’Aquila where you will enjoy a typical Italian breakfast surrounded by the wonderful views of this town. After that you will meet the cooking teacher who will accompany you to do the shopping in the new ‘Mercato Contadino’ to discover the organic and seasonal products of Abruzzo. They will be the basic ingredients for the lunch that you are going to prepare. After the shopping you will leave L’Aquila in the direction of the medieval picturesque village of Navelli.

Depending on the season the ingredients for the cooking class could be harvested directly from the fields. The cooking lesson will take place inside an ancient noble palace of Navelli. There you will learn step by step the preparation of typical Abruzzo’s recipes utilizing the classical italian culinary techniques. The lesson will be enriched by a dynamic tasting experience of different types of oils and wines. In particular an expert in the sector will let you discover their best food pairings. After the preparation of the recipes, if weather allows  you will enjoy the lunch that you have prepared in an open air table looking at relaxing landscape of Abruzzo. After lunch you will have the time to take a walk in a traditional vineyard and finally admire the view of the saffron valley before departure.
